Okay I have gone through and cleaned up the profiles for the new 1.1 Beta version of Nokia Multimedia Transfer. Because of added built-in support, I don't have as many profiles any more, so I'm bundling them into one file:
Nokia Multimedia Transfer currently has built-in support for (see Nokia's site for the full list):
- All N-Series phones through N76 and N95
- All E-Series phones through E90.
Update #1: As of v1.1.1, Nokia added support for the XpressMusic 5700.
Therefore where I previously had E6x profiles, these are no longer required.
I currently have profiles for download for:
S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 phones:
- 6110 Navigator
- 6120 Classic
- 6290
- 5700 XpressMusic
(Thanks to Wayne for providing, testing and using the 6120 profile, which I've extended to the other S60 3rd Ed FP1 phones herein.)
S60 3rd Edition phones:
- 3250
- 5500 Sport
S60 2nd Edition phones:
- 6630, 6680, 6681, 6682
- 3230, 6260, 6620, 6670, 7610
These are all included in this single download file, which you should uncompress to Library/Application Support/Nokia Multimedia Transfer/Profiles in your home folder, and restart Nokia Multimedia Transfer.
Wonderfull!!!
ReplyDeleteI can connect to my 6680 with your profile!!!
Thanks a lot!!!
You are great man!!!
How cool.
ReplyDeleteWork perfect!
Thanks alot
Greetz
Was really pleased to see Nokia come up with some Mac support - thought we were winning the war, but then I tried to load my 6110 Navigator into profiles... man was i p**sed off. They purposely disable use on non N-series devices...
ReplyDeleteWell, i must say how relieved I was to see a cunning fellow like yourself write your own profiles.
I've finally got a media transfer solution.
Keep up the awesome work.

This is great progress by Nokia. Any chance of getting a 6233 model to work?
ReplyDeleteSorry Anon -- the 6233 is a Series 40 device, and I haven't seen support (for me to copy) for any S40 devices in Nokia Multimedia Transfer.
ReplyDeleteGreat job Joshua!!
ReplyDeleteNow I can enjoy this media transfer with my Nokia 5500. Is it normal that my 5500 lacks some iPhoto features?
For instance, I cannot check the box for "Enable iPhoto Folder Transfer" and "Enable iPhoto Transfer for photos taken with this device." Am I missing sth?
Thanks a lot!
I'll look into it.. the profile might not have the camera set up properly in the profile.
ReplyDeleteThere is a possibility to connect also the 6600?
ReplyDeleteIt's an old phone but a good phone...
thank you very much.
Great Job!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd for the 6600?
There is a possibility to make it work?
Re: the 5500 -- the camera looks like it should work to me, but I haven't used the camera features of NMT so can't help much more there.
ReplyDeleteAnd the 6600 -- I've just added an experimental profile, re-download them.
I've tried the new profile for the 6600 but it doesn't work for me.
ReplyDeleteProbably I've an old frmware version.
If you release another profile I'll try with a new one.
But I must say you are really great.
Thank you again for your work
What Nokia doesn't do You do!
Hi, back to the 5500. It's true that iPhoto recognizes my phone as a camera: what I cannot do is syncing my mobile and the default folder in iPhoto. It's shown on the NOKIA website. Check the link

Thanks again
It doesn't work for me the profile for the 6600
ReplyDeleteProbably my firmware is outdated
Thank you very much for your work.
You can do what Nokia won't do!!!
Thank you again

Hi Joshua
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for posting and keeping the profiles for lesser and officially unsupported phones. I own a Nokia 3230 (with firmware V4.0526.2 15.08.05 RM51 - which is relatively old) and your profiles worked just fine. My Mac and my Nokia can share couple things more, as for example full iPhoto and iTunes support, via bluetooth.
By the way is there any trick to make my Mac to recognize my CA53 USB 2.0 cable for that kind of data transfer? It is recognized it only as a connecting cable for modem purposes.
Any way many thanks for posting the profiles...
Nikos
As for the 6600 -- still no reports of success. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteNikos: The USB cable should 'just work'. Since it doesn't, I'd guess there's some inconsistency between the name the phone uses over USB against the one that is in the profile and working over Bluetooth. Not sure how to help you find the right names though. You could see what's in the system log (in Applications/Utilities/Console) or under USB in System Profiler (About My Mac... > More Info) when you have the cable plugged in.
Nokia released the v 1.2
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately it seems that your profiles don't work for my 6680 anymore. I'd like to use Multimedia Transfer so much. I've tried to find the v1.1 but it seems it's completely vanished. Could you or somebody else send it to me? Thanks in advance.

Hi guys ,
ReplyDeleteMy Nokia multimedia transfer , after that I insert the profiles in the folder , found my 6630 via bluettoht , but says not supported!!
How i can connect my phone?
Thanks a lot
BR
pierpalo: Either you are using a new version of Nokia Multimedia Transfer (which I have yet to support) or I don't have a 6630 profile - have a look at the other blog entries in the archive to the left. If both of that doesn't apply, try deleting the .plist files from Library/Application Support/Preferences and Library/Caches/Nokia Multimedia Transfer or similar and try again.
ReplyDeleteYeah in version 1.3 beta the profiles are stored different.
ReplyDeleteI didn't figure out how different yet.
I've bee trying to browse my 6670 on my mac using your profiles but still no luck.
ReplyDeleteI'm using the new version of Nokia Media Transfer (1.3) is there any chance that is the problem?
Yes that will be the problem. The format has changed and I haven't caught up. I haven't installed/investigated the new version because my phone is now supported. Sorry everyone.
ReplyDeleteHelp - I cannot seem to get my text to speech function going on the 5500 sport. When I go to select a language it tells me there are none to select? Any ideas?
ReplyDeleteOff topic but the way to fix text-to-speech will be to go to your local http://www.nokia.com go to your phone model and look for "Downloads for your phone". There should be the languages for download now. Alternatively if you have a data plan on your phone you should have Download! installed and the languages are also in there.
ReplyDeleteadding new profiles works in NMT 1.3 or 1.4.1 version but you have to follow this guide: http://the.taoofmac.com/space/blog/2007/08/05/0957
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!!! ;)
